First Detail For Brand New Tundra
Today I got to Detail this beautiful new Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition truck. The owner had just purchased it and wanted to make sure the paint was defect free and well protected. I recommended a complete paint decontamination process before sealing the paint. Many new cars actually have a lot of contamination embedded in the paint from the manufacturing, shipping, and selling processes. All that time with no paint protection allows tar, dirt, iron (from brake dust and rail transport) and other various contaminants to embed into the clear coat. Applying IronX removes any iron deposits in the paint while clay barring removes any remaining dirt and grime from the clear coat leaving a perfectly smooth surface ready to be sealed. Before I sealed the paint, I hit a couple of small paint defects with some compound and a machine polisher. Finally, I applied Jet Seal from Chemical Guys as the final sealant to provide months of superior paint protection. All the plastic surfaces were protected with a polish and UV Ray protectant. The chrome was polished as well as the rims. For the interior, not much cleaning was needed as it was a brand new truck. However, all the surfaces were wiped down then protected with Ultima Interior Guard Plus to unsure the leather and plastics look new for many years to come!
